A TASTE OF THE COTSWOLDS
We have teamed up with local chef Masterchef Finalist Andrew Kojima, to offer bespoke foodie weekends, weeks or mid weeks. A typical foodie weekend could include a Saturday foraging, visiting local producers and markets before returning to base and a group cook – or you can just sit back and watch – leading to a wonderful dinner party. So an opportunity to learn and savor.
Gluts & Gluttony Cooking Classes
A bespoke cookery class in your own home or at G&G HQ in the Cotswolds where founder Kathy – trained at Ashburton Cookery School and formerly at Daylesford Cookery School, Thyme and River Cottage – will be your tutor.
Join us in the G&G kitchen (Oxfordshire, OX29) for our relaxed cookery demonstration with lunch. G&G founder, Kathy, will demonstrate dishes that make the most of the season’s harvest. You’ll eat everything she cooks as part of your lunch and head home with a recipe pack, your cooking questions answered and lots of inspiration. Classes cost £40 and run 11-2pm.
Private classes can take place at G&G HQ or in your own home or holiday cottage and can cover any aspect of cooking you’d like. We will arrive at your home a little before the class starts with all the ingredients you will need and will prepare the kitchen. We’ll talk you through each stage of the cooking, giving tips and tricks along the way. We can either eat the dishes as we go along or you may prefer to prepare everything and then eat it later, depending on the menu. At the end of your class you’ll be left with a host of new ideas and a binder of all the recipes you’ve cooked that day. Prices start from £150 for a 3 hour class, but vary depending on the number of guests.
DONT LIFT A FINGER
Our staffing partners, Greycoat Lumleys, will be pleased to help you find the perfect housekeeper, temporary nanny or staff a whole house for you. Let us know what your needs might be and we will introduce you to the wonderful Greycoat team.
We offer our guests the services of both Claire Hanson, the celebrity stylist and make up artist, and her MACH in house / in room treatments and therapies team; as well as the services of My Personal Sanctuary. Please email us for more details, especially for weddings and events.
BESPOKE COOKERY LESSONS
Tom and Henry – the Fabulous Baking Brothers – can create a bespoke cookery lesson for guests at Luxury Costwold Rentals; subject to a minimum of six people. To arrange call Anna Herbert on 01454 321 629.
The cookery courses are held in a stimulating and personable setting, with professional equipment including Kitchen Aid mixers and Electrolux ovens. And, as in any good home, they will feed you on the best local produce and you can take home a chunk of the great Hobbs House tradition to pass on in turn. From master classes in bread making and cake baking to chocolate workshops and sausage making classes and special children’s classes in baking and pizza making, Hobbs House Cookery School has a group of expert trainers who will share their skills and knowledge with you.
They want you to leave with the same infectious passion that their teachers have and a desire to bake. Of course you’ll never go hungry on one of their cookery courses. They all start with coffee and patisserie and end with a feast of some of the things you have made washed down with a glass or two of wine. You’ll always leave with a goody bag of the things you’ve made, it’s then just up to you whether to share it?
