We are great fans of this local Cotswold furniture and accessory company and on our last visit could not resist picking up a pair of these great Bell Jar Lamps paired with their warm vintage style Edison light bulbs. And on the visit before that we had to buy some radiator tables and one before that one of their great fire pits; now centre stage at The Old Surgery in Tetbury.

Scumble Goosie design and make a wide range of traditionally styled furniture hand crafted from solid sustainably grown hardwood; available either unfinished (raw) for you to paint, stain or wax as you require or they will do that for you. They can change the size and even the design to suit your specific requirements and can offer a multitude of finishes besides their six standard House Colours.

Scumble Goosie’s Gustavian style of furniture blends in well with all types of interiors. It is a pared down Swedish interpretation of turn of the 18th century French designs from Versailles and itt works in so many different settings – large or small houses, relaxed holiday homes, professional offices – modern or traditional. Painted or unpainted it never looks dated. Scumble Goosie are a small Cotswold company with a limited number of staff and as they have only one showroom they can keep their costs down, and provide better value than others. Their furniture is very robust and they don’t use plywood or MDF for the backs of pieces or bottoms of drawers; just solid planks of hand finished wood! In their Cotswold showroom they have 14 room sets brimming with hand painted and ready to paint furniture, gorgeous and unusual gifts, interior accessories and of course their famous DIY Wall Panelling.
